Heritage Insurance’s Richard Le Tocq and Grant Mitchenall (left and right) receive the Independent Broker of the Year award from Captive Review’s Jessica Ramella.
The annual awards recognise and reward those captive insurance service providers who have demonstrated exceptional customer service and innovative product development over the past 12 months.
Heritage Insurance was acknowledged for its work as an independent broker in the area of directors’ and officers’ (D&O) insurance to captive insurance boards including protected cell companies (PCCs), incorporated cell companies (ICCs) and special purpose vehicles (SPVs) across a number of jurisdictions including Guernsey, Malta, Gibraltar and the Isle of Man.
The award was only open to independent brokers that did not have a captive management division. Heritage sold its captive management arm to Artex Risk Management (an independent trading subsidiary of AJ Gallagher & Co) in May last year.
The judging panel found that Heritage Insurance had demonstrated extensive captive knowledge and experience and delivered excellent D&O insurance solutions to captive clients.
Heritage Insurance Brokers managing director, Grant Mitchenall, said the award was significant industry recognition.
“We spent five years developing a service entirely tailored to the captive market and this has been widely welcomed by the industry. Being recognised by the UK Captive Insurance Awards as the leading independent broker is a ringing endorsement of our expertise and experience in this market,” he said.
Heritage Insurance also sponsored a successful owners’ and risk managers’ round table event at the conference hosted by Heritage Insurance director Richard Le Tocq and Mark Helyar of Bedell Cristin. Participants took part in discussions on issues involving D&O risk exposures for captives, PCCs and ICCs.
