EU Insurance / Reinsurance Companies : Martin Azzopardi

Martin Azzopardi was one of the founder directors of Heritage Malta in 2006, and currently holds the post of Managing Director. Previously he held directorship positions with the largest indigenous insurance company in Malta and also served on the board of the first insurance management company in Malta.

Martin has over 31 years of experience in various facets of the insurance industry. He has also occupied the post of  General Manager Fuel & Insurance for the national airline and was responsible for the setting up and successful running of the its captive insurer as well as that of its independent insurance broking company where he occupied the post of MD. He has been involved as an active member of the Risk and Insurance Managers panel at IATA and on various occassions represented the Maltese Government on certain ad-hoc insurance groups at EU level.

Martin is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and obtained his fellowship specializing in Aviation Insurance. Martin also sits on the boards of various other Heritage Group companies as well as Heritage client companies and has recently been appointed on the board of the parent company in Guernsey.
