Since its establishment over a decade ago the General department has seen substantial growth in both the portfolio of business placed and in the number of our highly experienced and professional staff on whom we can call to service this account.
In recent years the team has increased its focus on commercial business, including but by no means limited to Property Owners, Retail, Office, Hotel, Group Personal Accident, Latent Defects, Kidnap and Ransom and Commercial Combined insurances. This type of business now accounts for the majority of our General Insurance account.
The Property Owners’ account now makes up a significant proportion of the General business placed. Our clients’ insurance may range from a single property let commercially on a “buy to let” basis through an owner’s large portfolio of 350 properties to a European portfolio that will have assets in excess of €2.5 billion.
Our client base is very broad and extends from placing insurance for local individuals and firms to utility providers, major retailers and plcs through to providing facilities for high street banks.

We will take into account a combination of factors including cover, service standards, the security of the insurer and the competitiveness of the premium.
